International credibility of the Blues' academy; Esteghlal, Iran's sole representative in the 1900 Cup in Barcelona

Esteghlal was invited to the prestigious 1900 Cup tournament in Barcelona as the only Iranian club, but the war conditions prevented the Blues from participating in this competition.

According to the official website of Esteghlal Club, the international 1900 Cup tournament for academy age groups is being hosted by RCD Espanyol in the city of Barcelona, Spain, with the participation of teams from the academies of prominent football clubs from around the world, including Espanyol, Valencia, Porto, Braga, Al-Ittihad, Brighton, and Real Betis.

Meanwhile, the Esteghlal Club youth football team (Nouheghalan) had been invited as the sole representative of Iran to participate in this competition. This invitation reflects the standing and credibility of the club's academy and Esteghlal's good reputation at the international level.

However, the timing of this competition coinciding with the onset of war conditions and the restrictions imposed on international travel routes caused Esteghlal's youth team to miss the opportunity to participate in this edition of the tournament.

Despite this, Esteghlal Club's name remained on the tournament bracket until the last possible deadline. The tournament organizers, in contact with the club, expressed their pleasure in inviting Esteghlal and declared their readiness to host the team in future editions.

Undoubtedly, once conditions permit, the presence of Esteghlal's representatives in this tournament can be repeated in the coming years.
